100-tonne press will produce switch boxes from sheet metal

Ottemeier Werkzeug- und Maschinentechnik GmbH from Verl, Germany, has ordered a DIEFFENBACHER TailoredPress to be delivered to a German customer. The 100-tonne TailoredPress, which will replace a more than 40-year-old DIEFFENBACHER press, is part of an Ottemeier switch box manufacturing line for producing sheet metal parts fully automatically in several steps, from coil to stacking. In addition to the DIEFFENBACHER TailoredPress, Ottemeier will deliver and integrate conveyor systems and robots into the plant.

“Since 1981, our customer has had only positive experiences with the DIEFFENBACHER press,” says Christian Wölki, Managing Partner at Ottemeier. “It was no surprise to us that once again we were asked to supply a press from DIEFFENBACHER as part of our complete automated line. With the TailoredPress, we have the perfect technical solution for the application and the most economical one for our customer,” he adds.

“The TailoredPress is our all-rounder for metal forming with a highly attractive price-performance ratio,” explains Marco Hahn, Director Sales of the Forming Business Unit at DIEFFENBACHER. “It offers press forces from 1,000 to 10,000 kN. In addition, the demand-oriented servo drives ensure that the TailoredPress operates quietly and energy-efficiently.”

DIEFFENBACHER will deliver the TailoredPress, including servo drives, die clamping and sound insulation, to Ottemeier in November 2022. The scope of supply also includes assembly and pre-commissioning at Ottemeier, as well as final assembly and commissioning at the end customer.
