Depending on the application, wide roving cutters can be used standing vertically or suspended. As movable version for SMC lines they reduce the set-up time enormously when changing blades or chancing the cutting length. Various expansion options such as ionisation , piker rollers, scrapers and a blow out device for the blade and counter roll, as well as many other options, enable individual adaption to customer requirements.
Precise rotation-speed monitoring and control for flexible production
Less wear on the pressure roller due to a cut-resistant, reworkable plastic coating
Low costs for wear parts, as a side traverse unit ensures an even wear of blades and pressure roller
Precise and smooth operations due to Schmidt & Heinzmann cutting roller technology
Robust design requiring low maintenance
Wide range of options for application versatility
Processable fiber materials: Brittle fibers such as glass, basalt, carbon and others
This cutting technique applies the functional principle of scissors: Continuous fibers are drawn in by a feed unit and are fed to the fiber cutting system using airflow. The airflow system keeps the fibers under tension between the feeding and cutting units. In combination with a rotating knife and stationary counter knives, a pulling cut (continuous cutting process) is enabled. A fiber chute ensures a defined spreading bed.
Different fiber materials can be cut simultaneously
Change the cutting length on the fly
Fiber materials: Glass, basalt, carbon, kevlar, aramid, natural, chemical, hybrid, thermoplastic, metal fibers and others
A fiber orientation unit enables dry fibers of different lengths to be placed precisely
