Wide roving cutters can be used standing vertically of suspended, depending on the specific application purpose. As movable version for SMC lines they reduce the set-up time enormously when changing blades or chancing the cutting length. Various expansion options such as ionisation , piker rollers, scrapers and a blow out device for the blade and counter roll, as well as many other options, enable individual adaption to customer requirements.

The cutting technique is based on the well-known functional principle of scissors: Continuous fibers are drawn in by means of a feed unit and fed to the fiber cutting system by means of an air flow system. The air flow system keeps the fibers under tension between the feeding and cutting unit. In combination with a rotating knife and stationary counter knives, this enables a pulling cut and therefore a continuous cutting process. A fiber chute ensures a defined spreading bed.
