In 2014, Fantoni decided to shut down its Plaxil 4 and 5 multi-opening plants and invest in a new continuous MDF line called Plaxil 8. The company had the unusual idea of producing three-layer MDF with two different fiber preparation lines for the surface layers and the core layer. The extraordinarily long press (65 m), the raw board handling, and the huge range of board thicknesses were further challenges for us as Fantoni’s main supplier for the non-standard project.
“Our project and site management team worked well with the Dieffenbacher colleagues from Germany and Finland. Everybody understood that the construction was complex and required discussions on a day-to-day basis, and so they were all loyal in respecting the deadlines. Working together with Dieffenbacher was satisfying in every detail during the construction and start-up phase, but what was even more important was the great support in fine-tuning and troubleshooting ever since. Here, Dieffenbacher has proven to be a reliable partner for us.” Marco Fantoni (member of the board of directors at Fantoni)
