Pioneering Stormwater Management with LFT-D Technology

Stormwater management is becoming an increasingly critical challenge all over the world. Rising regulatory requirements and the effects of climate change demand innovative and sustainable solutions. Xerxes, a leading manufacturer of underground composite products, provides solutions that help manage, protect and restore water resources. Searching for a high-performance alternative to traditional thermoset SMC (sheet molding compound) materials and aiming to increase production capacity, Xerxes partnered with DIEFFENBACHER to develop the world’s first long-fiber thermoplastic (LFT-D) stormwater chamber system.

That’s how we helped Xerxes get ahead

To produce these chambers, Xerxes operates two fully automated DIEFFENBACHER LFT-D compression molding lines including glass-fiber roving stations, LFT-D extrusion units, Fiberpress 2500 with mold change cart, post-processing station, quality inspection station and robot handling. With a fully integrated and automated production process, Xerxes benefits from high output capacity, consistent part quality and reduced material waste. The result: lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and highly durable chambers.

The implementation of DIEFFENBACHER’s AI-powered EVORIS platform further enhances efficiency by transforming production data into useful insights.
