The long awaited investment of Kastamonu at the city of Adana in the eastern part of Turkey is now on stream. The ground breaking ceremony took place on October 2nd, 2010 and subsequently the machinery has been ordered.
The biggest press ever delivered to Turkey (by press area) forms the core of the new MDF factory. Having a width of 2,65 m with a length of 55,5 m the Dieffenbacher Continuous Press System (CPS) ensures an annual capacity of 460.000 cubic meters.
The Dieffenbacher scope of supply includes the proven dryer and air grading system. It is foreseen to install the advanced mechanical EVOjet® blending system at a later stage.
For the time being glue savings will be ensured by the innovative PROjet blending system which achieves 5 – 10 % glue savings compared to the traditional blow-line blending.
The forming station according to the latest design with a scalping system enables an unsurpassed forming accuracy. The forming line includes a heavy duty pre-press which transports the mat into the continuous press.
The Dieffenbacher Continuous Press ensures minimal deviation in thickness tolerances with lowest sanding tolerances.
The raw board handling, equipped with state of the art quality measurements devices, cools the raw boards and forms master board stacks up to 4 m height. The subsequent storage area with two independent shuttles at first-in / first-out bases gives optimum flexibility to the panel manufacturer.
The conveying, grading and stacking system of the sanding line completes the mechanical scope of supply inside the production building.
The well proven design of the 75 MW thermal energy plant manufactured and supplied by Dieffenbacher is working as the motor of the entire plant. Kastamonu was convinced by the technical solution offered by the energy department of Dieffenbacher.
The electrics and process control of the plant as well as the site services are an integral part of the agreement.
Start of production is scheduled for the beginning of the second quarter of 2012.
