The new Wireless STS is the next generation of fully automatic STS storage systems for wood-based panels. It consists of a main wagon and one or more pairs of satellite wagons that are wirelessly connected to each other. The satellite wagons can move independently, without physical connection to the main wagon. The main wagon makes crosswise movements for stacks and satellite wagons, whereas the satellite wagons move and transfer stacks lengthwise in the storage area. The new Wireless STS can handle stack weights of up to 75 t and any lengths and width required. The main wagon can have the chain conveyor integrated into it. The storage area can be made with glulam beam supports.
Satellite wagons can operate independently from the main wagon
More flexibility and increased capacity because main wagon is free for other tasks, e.g., fetching the next stack, while satellite wagons move the stack
Satellite wagons transfer data wirelessly and can be powered without cable drums, ensuring high uptime
Unlimited length of the storage for better use of the building area
Higher maximum loads and up to 50% faster lift and transfer speeds
Operation of more than one satellite wagon pair increases capacity
Storage structure made with glulam beams gives good support to stacks and decreases carbon footprint of the construction
Reduced height of the structures reduces investment costs
Fully automated to avoid manual operations
More efficient board storage
