Successful acceptance of a DIEFFENBACHER EVOsifter P at De Sutter Frères in France

After less than three months of installation and commissioning, De Sutter Frères, based in Biville-la-Rivière, France, has signed the acceptance of a new DIEFFENBACHER EVOsifter P, including a new zigzag sifter, at its plant in Normandy, where it manufactures boards from flax fibers. De Sutter Frères’s new sifting technology improves a production process that suffered from an excessive proportion of impurities—stones, seeds and minerals—leading to increased saw wear and, in the case of oil-containing seeds, stains on the panels after coating.

“In the design phase, DIEFFENBACHER carefully considered the characteristics of our raw flax material,” says De Sutter Frères Managing Director Albane De Sutter. During tests at its Technical Center at the company’s headquarters in Eppingen, DIEFFENBACHER impressed De Sutter Frères with the sifting quality of the new EVOsifter P and subsequently presented a multi-stage concept that met the customer’s production requirements and efficiently used the available installation space.

DIEFFENBACHER’s new EVOsifter P is primarily used in the particleboard and recycling industries to separate materials into three fractions (acceptable material, coarse material and foreign material). The sifter’s geometrically optimized zigzag-shaped internals create numerous sifting stages. This design improves separation accuracy regardless of the density, thickness and sinking speed of the input material, reliably removes contaminants, and ultimately improves board quality with minimal loss of acceptable material. The EVOsifter P’s automatic cleaning unit also reduces the risk of screen deck blockages, thereby minimizing the need for manual cleaning and improving overall sifting efficiency and reliability.
