- New ways for heat generation
You can reduce CO2 emissions from heat generation by replacing gas or oil with more sustainable sources like biomass. We supply solutions that enable you to use recycling wood, bark, wood chips, straw, palm fronds, etc., and any wooden production waste. Most of these biomass sources are less expensive than oil and gas, and they offer a better CO2 footprint, helping you decrease your costs of CO2 emissions/certificates.
- New ways for power generation
You can invest in your own power generation by integrating our efficient combined heat and power plants. Producers of MDF panels especially benefit from this option as they produce hot steam anyway. This steam can be reused to operate a turbine to generate power. The reuse of this energy enables you to reduce emissions and save on the cost of external power.
- Use energy recovery solutions

- Reduce power consumption
Dieffenbacher is also working on new ideas that help you reduce the power consumption of machines. Just two examples: Our new Belt Dryer reuses heat from other sources and requires less energy than conventional low temperature dryers. The new Forming Station PB includes a new WindFormer, allowing a 50% reduction of the air to be moved into the system, which directly reduces the corresponding energy consumption.

- Dryer Emission Control System
The Dryer Emission Control System cleans dryer exhaust gases using an Inline Scrubber in compliance with local environmental standards. The Inline Scrubber efficiently separates dust particles from the gas stream. Optional auxiliary equipment captures water-soluble VOCs, especially formaldehyde.
- Press Emission Control System
The Press Emission Control System cleans exhaust gases from the press through a washing process. Dust and condensable fractions of exhaust gases are bound to fine water droplets. These solid and liquid parts are separated in the unique Inline Scrubber. Pre-absorber units can be supplied to reduce VOC emissions (volatile organic compounds), in particular formaldehyde.
- Intelligent Air Management System
The Intelligent Air Management System captures concentrated and diffuse emission sources and controls the infeed and outfeed air streams in the production hall in order to improve the hall climate. Each concept will be designed individually and integrates customer requirements.
- Emission Measurement
To reduce emissions, you need to know which emissions are present. We help customers determine the type and amount of emissions. Using state-of-the-art measuring methods, emission measurements are taken on stacks downstream of the dryer or the press exhaust system, for example. This includes measuring parameters such as total organic carbon (TOC) and many different substances, including water, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrous oxide, methane, ethane, propane, formaldehyde, methanol and various other gases. The dust content in the exhaust gas can also be measured using additional equipment.
The circular economy approach leads the way. Reduce your material costs by replacing fresh wood with recycling wood, urban wood waste or alternative raw materials, and increase the sustainability of your production at the same time. Produce high-quality boards from inexpensive recycling wood, straw and bagasse, or fast-growing woods and annual plants. Our ideas can help eliminate your dependence on the fresh wood supply in your region.
- EVORIS is key
Sustainable and efficient production is based on reliable and stable production processes. The new digital platform EVORIS enables manufacturers to produce at an optimum level. Features like Anomaly Detection and Quality Prediction help prevent or shorten unplanned downtime and avoid rejects. EVORIS supports you in achieving an always-ideal material consumption in each production step, which can deliver benefits such as reduced board density.
- Advanced machine solutions
In addition, various individual machines help customers reduce their material consumption. Just two examples: EVOjet M 2.0 helps to optimize gluing and reduces glue consumption. The new Forming Station PB increases spreading accuracy and saves raw material.
