On Wednesday, July 9, 2019 at 6:51 p.m., Starwood Orman Ürünleri Sanayi A.S. produced the first board on its new particleboard line in İnegöl, Türkiye. The line replaced a Dieffenbacher single-opening press commissioned in 1991. “You can only replace a Dieffenbacher line with a new Dieffenbacher line. Otherwise she keeps running,” says Starwood CEO Hüseyin Yildiz.

Collaboration was the decisive factor during the project planning, installation, and optimization of the plant. Personnel from Starwood and Dieffenbacher talked continuously, listened to each other’s ideas, and asked questions until they arrived at a mutual understanding of what could be achieved together. We never lacked for challenges. For example, the new line had to be integrated into the existing structure of the production site with very limited space and without affecting regular production.
Thoughtful engineering and calculation helped create an intelligent, compact and simple machine design, a reliable just-in-time shipment schedule, and flexible site and project management, resulting in a smooth implementation. The project ran so well that the first board was produced six weeks ahead of schedule, and the final acceptance was signed one month earlier than planned.
