Manufacture parts from composite materials at lower cost
Customer: TxV Aero Composites, Bristol (USA)
The aerospace industry has high demands for material quality and strength. Anyone who wants to produce thermoplastics in large series while keeping costs low needs the right solutions.
That’s how we helped TxV Aero Composites get ahead
TxV Aero Composites is a joint venture between Victrex and Tri-Mack. It was founded with the aim of offering complete solutions made of PAEK composite materials for mass production in the aerospace industry. Applications include load-bearing fasteners in structures, interiors and seats. Using our new tape laying technology and the Fiberforge plant, the company achieved significant cost savings compared to processing metals and conventional composites: “We wanted to offer complete solutions, ranging from polymers to finished components. The Fiberforge plant is the foundation of our production process. Our customers now benefit directly from this more efficient method for the mass production of continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastics.” (CEO Tim Herr)
