Hybrid technology
Combine materials optimal
More easily combine different fiber-reinforced plastics such as continuous fibers and long fibers, carbon fibers and glass fibers, or metals and plastics with each other to optimize your lightweight components. Make your components even more flexibly and design them according to your requirements . Reinforce primary structural components in a targeted manner to save additional material and weight while maintaining the same strength.
As part of the MoPaHyb research project, Dieffenbacher is implementing a configurable production plant for hybrid components. With the help of innovative Dieffenbacher technology, it’s possible to reconfigure from a first process chain (e.g., organosheet with two metal inserts, thread inserts and back-injected rib structure) to a second process chain, in which, for example, an underbody trough with different specifications is manufactured. This convertible plant for hybrid components is an important step toward a future with smaller batch sizes and simultaneously more complex components.
