Our activities in the social area
Because our employees are an important part of our success, we create a working environment in which everyone can feel comfortable and inspired to develop further. We are committed to treating each other fairly, promoting health and safety in the workplace and investing in the development of our employees. As a result, we are pleased that many employees have an above-average length of employment with us.
Equality and fairness
At Dieffenbacher, we promote a working environment characterized by mutual respect, tolerance, appreciation and trust. We respect and honor the personal dignity and personal rights of every individual. We work with people of different ethnic origins, cultures, religions and ages, regardless of disability, skin color, sexual identity, ideology and gender.
We attach great importance to ensuring that employee rights are observed and implemented with respect for and compliance with human rights and country-specific laws at the respective sites. For our German sites the collective agreements of the metal and electrical industry apply. Fair payment, employee-friendly working time and vacation regulations, extensive protection against dismissal, and transparent takeover practices are included in these agreements. In the case of temporary employment, too, we ensure that only employees from companies that apply a collective agreement signed by IG Metall are deployed.
Personnel development and qualification
We offer our employees a wide range of opportunities for professional and personal development. These include, for example, our own training programs and opportunities for additional qualifications and internal training across all career levels. In employee appraisals the qualification and further training of each person in the company are regularly considered at an individual level.
Support for families
As a family business we are particularly keen to support employment groups such as parents and employees of an older age. With flexible working hours, the offer of sabbaticals, support when returning to work after a career break, mobile working and regular training opportunities, we want to provide the opportunity to actively participate in working life for a long time.
Occupational safety is a top priority for us. A company specially commissioned for this purpose ensures that the working environment at Dieffenbacher meets all safety standards.
In recent years, the covid-19 pandemic has required particular focus on protecting our employees. We responded to the pandemic early on with increased hygiene requirements, distance regulations, the increased use of home offices, free tests and masks, and testing options.
Health management and pensions
As a partner to our employees, we support them in taking care of their own health and creating a good work-life balance. For example, we offer discounted gym memberships, regular health days, bicycle leasing and various sports groups and seminars. In Eppingen, our company doctor also looks after the health of our employees.
With the Dieffenbacher pension, a special form of company pension plan, our employees benefit from above-average returns on accumulated salary components.
Involvement of our employees in our sustainability management
Only together can we make a difference. That's why we want to raise awareness and give our employees the opportunity to get involved. Sustainability is a component of our mandatory training courses and employee appraisals. In addition, all employees can provide feedback and new ideas via our ideas management system and the regular employee survey. To reduce our carbon footprint, we support sustainable mobility and offer, for example, bicycle leasing, special parking spaces for carpools, or financial subsidies for the use of public transportation.
Our current activities and collaborations in the region:
Dieffenbacher is supporting the Eppingen 2022 Garden Show as a premium sponsor. This project means a lot to us because Dieffenbacher has been deeply connected with Eppingen and the region since our founding in 1873. The horticultural show allows us to enjoy nature at our main site and has positive effects on the climate and working environment.

We support young talents as they start their studies and subsequently enter the workforce. Everyone is a full team member and makes their contribution to moving Dieffenbacher forward. We are a partner company of the dual universities in Karlsruhe and Mosbach, the universities of Heilbronn, Karlsruhe and Rosenheim, as well as the KIT and Fraunhofer IOSB. In addition to university training, we support university trade fairs and give lectures.
The transitions from school to work and from theory to practice are big steps for students. Together with schools in Eppingen, Dieffenbacher strengthens the link between school and business. In this endeavor we meet students in different grades and different subjects. Through lectures, company visits, excursions and practical projects, students get a picture of the activities of a leading global company and gain practical experience.
The nutrition project ensures that children learn about health-conscious and sustainable nutrition at an early age. By means of weekly fruit and vegetable deliveries the children learn together about regional and seasonal products. As a sponsor, we support the Richen daycare center in securing funding for the project.
