Placas do Brasil S/A was founded in 2011 to fill the MDF supply gap in North and Northeast Brazil. Today, the company headquartered in the small town of Pinheiros produces 35,000 m³ of MDF per month on a Dieffenbacher line commissioned in 2018 and sells products in 21 of the country’s 27 states.

Dieffenbacher, first contacted by Placas do Brasil Chairman Luis Soares Cordeiro in 2012, became a longtime technical advisor and supplier that helped the newly formed company move forward. Together with two banks from Germany and Brazil, we helped Placas do Brasil secure financing for the project prior to laying the foundation stone for the new factory in June 2016. By mid-2018, the company was able to compete on equal terms with other Brazilian MDF suppliers.
Placas do Brasil credits Dieffenbacher for its support as a technological partner but also for assistance through all phases of the project. Our expertise and proactive support helped them understand the business they were about to enter. Today, Placas do Brasil has become a key player in the Brazilian MDF market. The company already plans production capacity increases once the initial plant investment is paid off.
