More recycled wood in particleboard production
Customer: Pfleiderer, Neumarkt (Germany)
Using recycled wood in the production of particleboard promises economic benefits as well as increased flexibility when purchasing wood. However, it also presents challenges, including fluctuations in the type of contamination, the quality, the size and the moisture content of the furnish. Together with the wood-based panels manufacturer Pfleiderer, Dieffenbacher found the optimal solution for these challenges.
That’s how we helped Pfleiderer get ahead
For the Pfleiderer site in Neumarkt, Germany, we developed a recycling wood processing concept based on a novel combination of proven screen and sifter technology and sensor-based X-ray sorting. Both were perfectly integrated into the existing plant structure. The intelligent cleaning and sorting systems reliably eliminate impurities and increase plant availability. Since it went into operation in January 2018, Pfleiderer has significantly increased the proportion of recycled wood in the production of particleboard while retaining the same high level of panel quality. This will continue to expand the economic benefits of using recycled wood.
