DIEFFENBACHER and its longtime Turkish sales partner, Hanex, have mutually agreed to terminate their cooperation as of June 30, 2026. Hanex has supported the German machinery and plant manufacturer in its sales activities in the Turkish wood-based panels market since 1999. “Together with Hanex, we successfully established our Wood Business Unit in the Turkish market,” explains Tilman Helmer, Area Sales Director at DIEFFENBACHER.
In 2020, DIEFFENBACHER opened a liaison office, strengthening its market development efforts in Turkey with its own staff. At the same time, the company began expanding its business activities beyond its Wood Business Unit to include its other three business units: Forming, Recycling, and Energy. In 2024, DIEFFENBACHER took the next step by transforming the liaison office into an official subsidiary, named DIEFFENBACHER Makine Ticaret ve Servis Limited Şirketi.
Işık Zorcu, who joined DIEFFENBACHER in 2020 as a Project Manager for Turkey and has worked closely with Hanex ever since, will be appointed Director of the DIEFFENBACHER office in Turkey, effective July 1, 2026. Zorcu, who worked for Kastamonu Entegre and AGT before joining DIEFFENBACHER, is well known in the Turkish wood-based panels industry and will serve as the primary point of contact for all DIEFFENBACHER customers in Turkey across all four business units and all divisions, including sales, modernizations, service and spare parts.
“After 27 years of close collaboration, we conclude an important chapter in Hanex’s history. We are grateful for the trust, friendship and mutual respect that have characterized our relationship with DIEFFENBACHER and look back on our cooperation with appreciation and respect. We are confident that both companies will continue to develop successfully on their respective paths,” says Hanex General Manager Cihan Ayla Jr. “I want to thank the many colleagues at DIEFFENBACHER with whom we have worked together, as well as our customers who placed their confidence in our joint efforts. I wish DIEFFENBACHER and its team in Turkey continued success in the future,” he adds.
“The fact that we can look back today on almost three decades of a trusting partnership is anything but a given,” says Tilman Helmer. “We want to express our sincere gratitude to Hanex for this long journey together and the many successes we’ve celebrated together. I would especially like to thank Hanex founder and former CEO Dr. Cihan Ayla Sr., who played a key role in initiating and driving our partnership forward and who, sadly, passed away far too soon in 2021,” he concludes.
