Do you want to design heavy industrial equipment as part of international delivery projects? Dieffenbacher Panelboard is now looking for a Mechanical Designer for Nastola!
Your tasks
What will you be doing?
As a Mechanical Designer, you will join Dieffenbacher Panelboard’s design team in Nastola. You will be responsible for the mechanical design of your own equipment and act as the equipment owner as part of international delivery projects.
The role focuses especially on downstream equipment in panelboard production lines such as conveyor and material handling solutions. In your work, you will participate in the design, maintenance, and development of equipment throughout their entire lifecycle. You will prepare initial data for project planning, produce and maintain equipment documentation, and contribute to improving cost-efficiency and quality. In addition, you will collaborate with production, procurement, automation, product development, and customers.
The role also includes guiding subcontracted designers and ensuring the quality of design solutions. Occasionally, you will participate in equipment inspections and customer visits in Finland and abroad. Travel days remain moderate, typically around 5–15 per year.

Your profile
What kind of professional are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with mechanical design expertise and some prior experience in machine or equipment design. You enjoy an environment where practical design work, technical problem-solving, and collaboration with various stakeholders come together. You work carefully, take responsibility for your tasks, and keep to agreed schedules. We especially value experience in heavy machinery design and an interest in understanding products from both manufacturing and practical implementation perspectives.
We expect applicants to have:
- A relevant educational background (Engineer or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering)
- Prior experience in mechanical or machine design
- Familiarity with industry-standard design software – Dieffenbacher uses Creo and AutoCAD
- Good communication skills in English and Finnish
- Willingness to travel occasionally in Finland and abroad
Additionally, we consider it an advantage if you have:
- Experience in designing heavy machinery or welded and machined structures
- Understanding of the requirements and possibilities of different manufacturing methods
- Practical experience, for example in installation or welding
Practical details: This is a permanent, full-time position in which you will be employed directly by Dieffenbacher Panelboard Oy. Your workstation will be located in Nastola. After the onboarding phase, you will work in a hybrid model, with at least three days per week at the office.
